卓見だと思った。

輸入牛肉による狂牛病で死亡…0人
秋田…2人
パロマ…15年で20人
デフレ不況自殺…ここ10年で5～10万人

結論: 犠牲者が少なければ少ないほどマスコミは報道に時間をかける傾向がある。

なるほど面白い。
阪神大震災等の報道ですら、

　　　報道時間÷（死亡者数＋係数） #ゼロ割を避けるために係数を設定

を算出すると、ほぼこの傾向に当てはまるのではなかろうかな、と。

とはいえ、実際のところは「あの事件はキャラが面白いから」に尽きるんだろうけど。
マスコミ使って仮想犯人立てるなんざ、古畑任三郎の犯人役かと思った。

記憶があやふやなのですが、確かイギリス政治において、次のような揶揄がありました。
「議会での審議時間は、関連予算の額に反比例する」
cloudyさんのご指摘ともあわせ、これらは何がしかの人間の性を表している、のかも。

その言葉も面白いですね。
重大な案件ほどアッサリ通る、というのは確かにありそうです。

重大な案件ほどコンセンサスが得られやすく合意に至り易いのか、
どうでもいい案件ほどどうでもいい議論が長々と続き易いのか。

イギリスの件については、「どうでもいい案件ほどどうでもいい議論が長々と続き易い」という文脈だったように記憶しています。

若干考察するなら、具体化したほうが問題はわかりやすい、という身も蓋もないことなのかな、とは思います。

例えば年金が国庫負担の総額でいくらが適切なのかと問われても、○兆円がよいと筋道を立てて主張することは難しいでしょう。他方で、何歳から受給することがいいのかとか、月あたりいくらぐらいがいいのかとか、そういった議論の方が簡単なのは、ある意味当然ではないかな、と。
